…and what came before? (…e o que veio antes?) is a book that begins at the end and ends at the beginning. Partnered with Carolina Moreyra, this was an independent publishing, product of collaboration and discussion in BabaYaga collective.
How to make the rhythm of the reading start slower and get faster as it approaches to the Big Bang? To achieve this effect, the illustrations are smaller at first, when depicting the small events, and they grow as the descriptions show wider scenarios and bigger time frames. The last part of the text is revealed as we quickly unfold a panoramic view of the start of the Universe.
